Process Technician IL Open (J#23528)
Experience: 4 - 9 years

PROCESS TECHNICIAN

Responsible for monitoring molding processes; troubleshooting process problems; training employees; performing duties of Process Technician Supervisor

Duties:
1.Monitors molding processes by:
selecting proper temperatures, pressures, and cycles;
ensuring presses meet standard cycle times and produce quality parts;
analyzing parts to determine machinery adjustments;
utilizing statistical process control data;
improving process cycle times;
documenting process changes.
insuring all injection molds are properly installed into injection presses.
verifies all injection molds have been prepared for production startup; I.E. water lines
connect properly, hot runner systems and thermolators properly connected.

2.Troubleshoots processing problems by:
adjusting temperatures, pressures, and cycles;
arranging for repair of equipment;
responding to operator inquiries;
communicating with Quality Assurance regarding product quality.

3.Trains employees by:
explaining machine parts, specifications, and modes;
demonstrating parts of the mold, types of gates, and basic mold designs;
instructing employees about speed, pressure, and temperature parameters;
teaching start up, operation and shut down procedures;
explaining optimization of control settings;
demonstrating properties of plastic during and after molding.
supervising and training mold setters in proper mold setting techniques.

Entry level qualifications:
high school diploma or equivalent
7 years experience in injection molding processing
