Mold Designer VA Open (J#21306)
Education: Bachelors Degree
Experience: 4 - 9 years

Canon Virginia, Inc. is currently recruiting for the position of Mold Designer.
The ideal candidate will use his/her ability to design various types of injection mold tools in support of our Tool Manufacturing divisions.

Position Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering or other complimentary technical field with 2-5 Years mold design experience, preferably in manufacturing environment. Must be familiar with a wide variety of molding concepts, practices, and procedures.
Requires injection mold design experience with the ability to utilize Auto Desk Mold Flow, experience with NX a plus.
Must be able to manage multiple projects to agreed upon timeframes.
Must be results oriented, energetic, proactive, self-starter, and a team player.
Strong communication (written and verbal) required, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate to all levels within an organization required.

Job Description:

- Utilizes extensive knowledge in the design of PC, HIPS, ABS, Nylon, PET, PC/ABS molds from concept to production; including part design, palstic shrinkage, conceptual mold design, stack, base, hot runner, and part handling design. Supplies complete tool designs, including 2D prints.
- Utilizes computer aided design (CAD) software for designing injection molds. Utilizes One Space Design (OSD) or NX.
- Supplies complete tool designs, including 2-D prints.
- Interacts with customer from initial design concept through design acceptance.
- Manages and maintains strict timeline adherence as set forth by the schedule.
Interacts with various internal and external groups to enhance the process and to help alleviate any undesirable conditions.
- Understands and applies mold flow as necessary to achieve positive results.
- May lead a project or task group in collaboration with other Tool Designers, Programmers, Engineers, or staff from other divisions.
