Maintenance Technician (2nd Shift)

Compensation: $20 - $24 per hour

A growing company has a need for their Second Shift Maintenance team. This position is located in the heart of the Midwest and an opportunity to work for a premiere molding facilty.

Responsibilities

- Daily maintenance and repairs to plastics process machinery and support equipment as required
- Preventive maintenance programs as supported by production and scheduling departments
- Remedial maintenance activities as they arise and in priority as determined by management
- Requisition and acquisition of components and supplies directly related to the job
- Responsible for ensuring timely resolution of scheduled and nonscheduled machine and facilities requests
- Able to detect and repair oil leaks on injection molding machines
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and inspect all hydraulic components, i.e. cylinders, valving, pumps, motors and lines
- Inspect, measure, replace all feedscrews and tip assemblies
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair heater bands, nozzle bands, conductors and thermocouples
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair electrical problems and/or replace fuses as required
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair building electrical problems or replace fuses
- Install, diagnose, troubleshoot and repair intake supply and return water lines
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic problems on auxiliary equipment (i.e. thermolators, portable core pull, grinders, etc.)

Qualifications

- Five years of experience working as a Maintenance Technician in the plastic injection molding industry
- Two years of experience with PLC's
- Ability to work well with all plant disciplines to maintain cost efficient, quality production
- Able to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic problems on secondary and assembly operations equipment
- Able to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair/replace and maintain material handling equipment
- Can perform proper start-up and shut-down of all plant equipment (i.e. tower, chiller, compressors, silos, etc.)
- Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic aptitude/experience is needed
- Willingness to be certified as a CPR and 1st Aid Responder
- Ability to safely operate a variety of hand tools and machine tools
