| Director of Sales TX Open (J#26145) Education: Bachelors Degree FUNCTION: Large plastics resins company with multiple locations is searching for a North American Director of Sales. The Director of North American Sales will lead and manage all aspects of sales operations including technical service activities to increase market share in North America. S/He is responsible for improving share and profitability and fulfilling the corporate growth objectives. S/He will provide active and constructive input to the Senior Management Team and gain early support for sales strategies. The Director will manage and mentor the sales force for the US and Canada instilling his/her sales expertise to improve consultative selling effectiveness. The position requires an in depth knowledge of the polyolefin and polystyrene flexible and rigid packaging industry which will be brought to bear to improve sales team market knowledge and to define and prioritize National Account opportunities and develop sales penetration strategies. The Director provides vision to lead the sales force in developing and executing major account plans and sales goals to fulfill these strategies, to grow with existing customers, and to penetrate National Accounts. The Director is responsible for achieving quarterly/annual sales goals while containing the cost of selling and building strategic relationships at senior levels amongst key customers. The Director will work to improve the recognition of the brand through active leadership roles in Industry Associations. S/He will support the product management function by interfacing with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Logistics, R&D and Marketing to fain alignment with sales objectives and to identify future growth opportunities. REQUIREMENTS: Experienced sales leader within the chemicals/plastics industry, ideally with a chemical engineering degree combined with and MBA. Specific experience should include: Minimum Experience: 15 years of sales experience 10 years of progressive management experience 3-6 years multi-regional experience Job-Specific Skills: Demonstrated leadership to get results through the efforts of his/her organization Key role in leading a transformation from a medium sized regional player to major player as a platform to successfully expand in global markets Proven management skills capable of handling multiple and often conflicting priorities Proven ability to develop broad and strong customer relationships | |||
