Education: High School
Experience: 4 - 9 years

Tool Designer Mold or Tool and Die

Position: Tool Designer

Skills / Training Required:
Minimum of 8 years of experience in injection molding/tooling industry
OR
Associates degree in mold design/plastics technology w/5 years work experience
OR
Specialized certification in mold design/plastics technology w/5 years work experience
Strong working knowledge of Mold design, mold construction, practical theory of molding
Computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint
CAD software used: Catia, Cadkey, Cimatron
Able to speak, read and write basic English
Ability to work under minimal supervision
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to multitask multiple projects
Ability to learn new skills sets as required
Actively participate in continual improvement, corrective action and customer satisfaction
Responsibilities:
Designing of plastic injection molding tools, fixtures, gages, and dies to specification, timing, and budgets
Specify and order all steel and mold components through interaction with vendors.
Planning and coordinating the development of tooling design projects
Providing feedback on the feasibility of component design.
Project timelines.
Quoting for new molds and mold repairs.
Analysis and trouble-shooting injection mold production issues
Supervision and directing toolmakers on mold builds
Manage in house and outsourced tooling, specifications, design reviews, costing, open issues, approval
Manage in house tooling maintenance
Maintenance of internal quality standards
Additional duties as required
