Title: Cost Estimator

Description

Develops and coordinates the quoting for the injection molding process, sub-assembly, packaging and other secondary operations, overseeing for accuracy, for production facilities throughout North America.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* Development of cost estimates and supporting rationale.
* Preparation of quote model and supporting documentation.

* Interface with Sales and Engineering to capture, understand, and validate the customers
requirements for a RFQ.

* Support Program Management for any program awarded.

* Develop short and long-term continuous improvement plans in the company's cost estimating
process.
Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Preferred four year engineering degree in plastics or related field of study. Ten plus years of experience in plastics processing/manufacturing environments. CAD, solidworks, excel, and other business software skills required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to be organized, and able to switch between estimations when necessary. Ability to set and meet deadlines. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
