Aeronautical Engineer Sr Professional Missile Modeling Engineer responsible for the development and delivery of high fidelity threat modeling products in support of the Missile Defense Agency - to support the Threat Modeling Center on the JRDC Program at Schriever AFB, CO. (Position 629) Essential Job Functions - Designing, developing, maintaining, modifying, and testing ballistic missile models for integrating ballistic missile and aircraft systems into high resolution simulation media in support of Ballistic Missile Defense System events. - Assists in the development of aeronautical/astronautical systems designs for current and conceptualized hardware, components and systems. Prepares plans and drawings using design software. - Performs various analyses, as directed by senior personnel, including flight dynamics, thermal, structural, guidance and control, stability, etc. to assist in the identification of correct configuration, integrity and feasibility of design(s). May lead a small analysis and/or design team. - Assists in the creation of working subsystem prototype(s) at the brass board level for proof of concept or customer demonstration. Prepares technical documentation. Verifies that prototype(s) meet design criteria or subsystem specifications. - Assists in the review of vendor/contractor capability to bring product design from engineering prototype phase to production release. Qualifications Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience - Master's degree in aeronautical/astronautical engineering or related field preferred - Four or more years of experience in aeronautical/astronautical engineering analysis, subsystem design and development - Experience working with aeronautical/astronautical design principles and practices - Experience working with state of the art practice/industry standards aeronautical /astronautical analysis and design tools - Experience working with production processes to include fabrication, plastic injection molding, metal forming and/or machining processes Other Qualifications - Skills in computer assisted design (CAD) software such as Pro/Engineer, SolidWorks, etc. - Analytical and problem solving skills for the design and testing of prototype(s) through product release - Organization and time management skills - Interpersonal skills to interact with team members, vendors and contractors - Communication skills to convey design/analysis/production of product to team members, vendors and contractors - Ability to use industry standard state of the practice analytical and engineering tool for concept analysis, requirements generation, analytical performance verification and test results quality assurance - Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment leading a small design team CSC Computer Sciences Corporation Preferences Type: Full Time Contractor/Consultant Industry/Job Category: Not Specified Compensation Market Register Now Job Location Map data 2008 Tele Atlas - 20 mi 50 km Similar Jobs By Location By ZIP Code , By this Employer 2008 - Software 2001 ClearanceJobs is a Dice Holdings, Inc. company.
